Together, this team is absolutely instrumental in Elan's on-going R&D.
Ingemar Stenmark’s reputation as the most successful ski racer in the history of World Cup skiing still remains firmly intact to this day. Ingemar spent over 20 years racing with Elan skis on the World Cup circuit, climbing to the top of the podium on no fewer than 86 occasions.
Glen Plake is the “original” freeskier and a true free spirit in every possible way. Born and raised in California, he started skiing after being inspired by his math (!) teacher, who showed the class an outtake from the 70's cult ski flick Outer limits. Appartently to demonstrate a math principle. Is that a cool teacher, or what?
Hailing from Slovenia, Davo Karničar enjoyed a distinguished competitive alpine ski career before turning his attention to mountaineering and alpine descents. The Slovene has close to 1,500 alpine ascents and ski descents to his name. Arguably, Davo’s greatest achievement is his completion of the Seven Summits Project, which saw him ski down the highest peak on each of the world’s seven continents. Working together with Elan Skis, Davo continues to push the boundaries of human achievement.
Even after a successful racing career in the World Cup, Christian still ikes to get his adrenaline pumping. So, whenever time permits, he sits in a rally racing car and tries to brake as late as possible before a bend. He says this is the same as in skiing - the later you brake, the faster you go. As a true sportsman he likes other sports as well - football, hockey, tennis and especially golf.
As one of the most promising and talented skiers in her generation, Urška won several World Cup and World Championship medals. Always ambitious and resourceful, today Urška is a valuable asset for the Team, working towards the progression of women's skiing.
