What a weekend! The best of the best in Skicross gathered at Blue Mountain, Canada, for the Skicross World Cup finals on Friday for the 2016/17 showdown.
Elan had a strong presenece at Blue Mountain as the sponsor of the event and we can honestly say the Elan tent was the the center of attention of the event!
The Elan booth at Blue Mountain was the centre of attention, just behind the finish area of the race track. On Friday we saw terrible weather, but Saturday brought clear skies and happy faces!
Ian Deans came by and made some magic with the magic marker ---
Happy faces at the Elan tent!
If Friday was a weather disaster, Saturday was the perfect training day for the 32 men and 16 women racers at Blue Mountain. And the course looked AWESOME!!!

On Sunday thing started to heat up. Racers were lined up at the top of the race track, competition began. The weather remained clear and we can honestly say that this has been the race of the season! Great atmosphere, great weather and ... GREAT RACING!!! Especially for the Elan team!!!
Let's start with the ladies. Brittany Phelan rocked the course and eventually claimed 4th place, her career best. Oh, and she got the Rokie of the year award as well, so it was a perfect season for Britt, finishing on 10th overall with eight top-10 results in the season. Good job girl!!!

And the boys? We guess it was just a matter of time when these radical skiers on those green Elan weapons would explode and "own" the race. It happened just in time!!! We saw Brady Leman dominate the course on Sunday, with FIlip Flisar and Terence Tchiknavorian not far behind. At the end it was Brady Leman on 1st place, Filip Flisar on 3rd and Terence on 4th. The final run was an almost-all-green race with three Elan riders in the pack. It was a great sight!! Check the final run in the video below:
The World Cup season is over, but we have one more stop to go - the World Championships in Sierra Nevada next weekend (March 18th). How did the Elan team do in the World up overall results? Pretty dam* good! We have Brittany Phelan on 10th place overall and Anastasiia Chirtcova on 14th. For sure we're missing Kelsey Serwa in the standings, but with an injury early in the season, 24th place overall is pretty cool and we're excited what these fierce girls will show next season.
And the boys? We're thrilled about the overall results. Check them out below and you'll see why, as Elan has 2 riders in the TOP-5, 3 riders in the TOP-10, 5 riders in TOP-30:
2. Brady Leman
4. Filip FLisar
8. Kevin Drury
15. Terence Tchiknavorian
30. Ryan Regez
All we can say is - CONGRATULATIONS BRADY LEMAN for the second place overall!!! You were the most consistent skier this season and you deserved it! And FILIP? If it weren't for that illness at the beginning of the season, we'd see you even higher, but let's leave some thrill for the World Championships, deal?
