The Skicross tour had a break since the Cross Alps Tour in December, where team Elan surely made an imapct with two wind by Filip Flisar and two second places by brady Leman, along with solid results from the whole team. As we jumped into 2017, the next race was held in Watles (Italy). With qulifications on Friday cancelled due to severe weather conditions (strong wind and snowfall), the race on Saturday was held with all racers starting the race. And what a race it was!!

Brady keeps charging!

The first race of 2017 saw Brady Leman taking the green Elan skis to the podium again with a second place in a fierce battle. Kevin Drury squeezed into the top 10 with an 8th place. We also saw other Elan riders with solid results with 7 Elan riders in the top 30. But someone was missing in the pack – Filip Flisar with a prescribed lunch of medications who got sick before the race and couldn't keep up with the rest.

In the ladies fleet, Elan is proud to announce a new team member in our Skicross team, as Brittany Phelan (CAN) joined Elan and claimed a career best 6th place in her first race on Elan skis. We also saw Anastasiia Chirtcova on 12th place, so solid performance fort he girls as well!

After heavy snowfall and strong wind on Friday, racers saw blue skies for two days of racing.

Sunday was even better!

Day 2 of racing in Watles was even better for Team Elan. Brady Leman keeps collecting podium results and is becoming the king os silvers in the Skicross tour, as he added another second place to his collection for the season. Keep them coming Brady!!!

As for the whole team, we're super stoked that we saw 4 Elan racers in the top 8 – along with Brady on 2nd place, we saw Sergey Ridzik in 6th, Kevin Drury in 7th and Terence Tchiknavorian in 8th place. Great team effort!!! Add to that another four Elan riders in top 30, it was a great weekend for Elan in Watles, with ladies chipping in with two solid results - 11th place (Anastasiia Chirtcova) and 14th place (Brittany Phelan).

Next stop in the Skicross tour is Feldberg (Germany) in beginning of February and we can't wait to see the guyz and galz fight it out on the course again! The outlook is good, we now have three Elan riders in the top 10 of overall standings, with Brady Leman now in second, Filip Flisar in fourth (bad luck this weekend with his health) and Kevin Drury in seventh place.

Check a great overtake in Watles from Brady Leman!

See you later, Japan!

Japan is an interesting country and so is its snow. The winters are long, cloudy and unlike anywhere else. Spending a few months deep in East Asian powder is an unforgettable experience and definitely one to be repeated again and again.
